Karachi: In compliance with the Government of Pakistan\u2019s zero-tolerance policy against smuggling and under the directives of the Federal Board of Revenue, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Karachi continues its robust anti-smuggling operations, as part of which the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) received actionable intelligence regarding the movement of smuggled foreign goods via a trailer on Mauripur Road; acting swiftly, ASO Karachi staff intercepted the trailer bearing registration number TKZ-091 and recovered a significant quantity of contraband items including 5,620 packets of foreign cigarettes, 405 kilograms of health-hazardous betel nut (chalia), 15,270 kilograms of Iranian-origin skimmed milk powder (dry milk), and 1,864 kilograms of foreign fabric, all of which were being illegally transported into the domestic market, with the total value of the seized goods and the trailer estimated at over Rs. 41 million; the confiscated goods have been shifted to the ASO\u2019s official warehouse, and a case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, while further investigation is underway; according to the Customs spokesperson, this successful operation reflects the government\u2019s firm resolve and the FBR\u2019s effective strategy to eliminate smuggling from the country<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
