
Islamabad, July 18 – In a significant move aimed at strengthening the upper echelons of Pakistan’s tax administration, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has approved the promotion of six senior officers from BS-21 to BS-22, the apex grade in the civil bureaucracy, across both the Pakistan Customs Service and Inland Revenue Service, with immediate effect. Mr.Wajid Ali, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Customs Service presently serving as Member (Customs-Policy) at FBR Headquarters, Islamabad, has been promoted to BS-22 on a regular basis. He shall continue to serve in the same position and the post has been upgraded to BS-22, personal to him for the duration of his incumbency. Ms. Rabab Sikandar, also from the Pakistan Customs Service and currently posted as Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (Punjab), Lahore, has been elevated to BS-22. She will retain her current posting and her position has likewise been upgraded to BS-22, personal to her. She will continue to draw her performance allowance as before. In the Inland Revenue Service, Dr. Hamid Ateeq Sarwar has been promoted to BS-22 and will remain posted as Member (IR-Operations), FBR Headquarters, Islamabad. The post of Member (IR-Operations) has been upgraded to BS-22,. Ms. Saadia Sadaf Gilani, serving as Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue at Corporate Tax Office, Lahore, has also been promoted to BS-22 and shall continue in her current role, with the post upgraded accordingly to BS-22 as personal to her. Likewise, Ms. Tehmina Aamer, Chief Commissioner-IR at Regional Tax Office, Rawalpindi, has been elevated to BS-22 and shall remain in her existing position, which is now upgraded to BS-22,. Mr. Shahid Iqbal Baloch, another senior officer of the Inland Revenue Service, has also been promoted to BS-22.
