
Karachi: M. Qamar ul Islam, Honorary Advisor to the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), met M. Zafar ul Haq Hijazi, Federal Tax Ombudsman, at his office in Islamabad and extended warm congratulations on his appointment.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on matters of mutual interest, particularly focusing on the role of the All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA) in the customs clearance process. The dialogue also covered APCAA’s engagement with key stakeholders to facilitate trade, streamline clearance procedures, and address challenges faced by the business community.
Qamar ul Islam emphasized the importance of coordination and constructive engagement among customs authorities, tax institutions, and trade bodies to ensure transparency, efficiency, and timely redressal of grievances, highlighting the pivotal role of the Federal Tax Ombudsman in this regard.
On the occasion, Mr. Qamar ul Islam formally invited the Federal Tax Ombudsman to visit Karachi, which was graciously accepted by Zafar ul Haq Hijazi.
Legal Advisor Almas Ali Jovindah was also present during the meeting.
