Customs Enforcement Karachi Seizes Rs.12 Million Worth of Smuggled Silver from Passenger Bus

KARACHI: The Customs Enforcement Karachi has foiled an attempt to smuggle 25 kilograms of silver worth Rs. 12 million during a routine inspection at the Mochko check-post. According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the individual transporting the silver failed to produce any legal import documents or purchase receipts, leading to the seizure of the contraband under provisions of the Customs Act, 1969. The passenger has been taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the smuggled silver and identify others connected to the smuggling network. FBR reaffirmed its resolve that anti-smuggling operations will continue with full force across all check-posts nationwide to protect the national economy from illicit trade activities
